We are going hunting

Svampejagten er skudt i gang

 The mushroom hunt has begun

/ Why should you now take advantage of the offers of the forest? They are even
for free. My friend and I could not hold ourselves from going into the biggest forest
in Denmark, Rold Skov, and oh boy it payed off. We both got home with a surprisingly
big amount of mushrooms each - both edible, poisonous, unknown ones and known.
The season for mushrooms picking is around August to October and we were out
there in mid August not counting on finding much but the forest proved us otherwise /

Rødbrun mælkehat (spiselig) / saffron milkcap (edible)
Gran Koralsvamp (spiselig) / Crown Coral (edible)
Guldgaffel (spiselig) / Yellow Coral (edible)

Violet Ametysthat (kan spises, men det frarådes) /
Amethyst Deceiver (edible, though advised not to)
Dagens fangst, og vi var kun ude og lede i en lille time / The pick of the day and we only picked for little less than an hour

/ Not only did we get a lot of fresh air but also the dog got some time to
enjoy the gifts of the forest. All in all was the trip a successful one and
there is something very satisfying about pick mushrooms and get to cook
them, taste them and enjoy them. I would recommend a trip to your nearest
forest. Remember a basket of some kind that will not ruin the mushrooms. /

My kind of thing

I went to Guatemala the 9th of October to the 23rd to visit my sister who has been living there for a little over 4 months. I have not seen her for 18 months so it was a strange, new and enjoyable reuniting. I went there with my dad who went there with my mum in July this year (2015). My sister was staying in a little town called San Morcos and this place is know as the hippie town of the Atitlan Lake.
We had a lot of these so called cacao ceremonies and before you go "oh my gaaard.. it is some kind of sect she is adverticing" then I will just tell you about the whole cacao thing so just hang on a little more:

•Cacao as a multidimensional partner and facilitator for creative, spiritual, or ceremonial purposes… artistic, new age, or shamanic.  Chocolate brings the door but doesn’t push you through it.

•How to use the Food for the Shift for your creativity, productive workplace focus (solo or team), all day trekking or all night dancing, yoga, meditation, processing, emotional release, journeying, deeper partnered connecting, therapy, group facilitation, kirtan, coaching, team building, or cacao ceremony, etc.  Truly helpful... a major facilitator from inner change and play - to outer creativity and productivity.

- This is directly taken from the Cacao ShamanKeith. His website is on my homepage!

My story with the cacao is very colorful and full of experiences even though I have not been using it much. When I do cacao in teams I experience that I do have a lot of questions but something I do not ask them because an eye that I am seeing infront of me is telling me who have to sort something out before I have to sort my things out.
This is one of the eyes I have seen while meditation with cacao.
To most people I have shown this it is a scary eye but to me they all look gentle to me but they are also very see through. The eyes look at the people that attend the ceremonies that are there just to talk and then they look at the people that need help.
I am not trained in this at all enough to be able to tell what the people need to say or get sorted out but I think I will get there!

Beijing - The Forbidden City

Beijing… Beijing is one strange and busy city. When I say that it is because one of the first things that caught my eye was some kid taking a dumb on a piece of carbon near a trashcan. It is not something we do in Europe and therefore I was chocked to say the least but after you see something like that – kids peeing in the street or a mother changing her baby’s diaper before entering the subway – then you get kind of immune to it and do no longer think much about it. Nor should you be surprised to experience someone spitting right at your feet or hear someone behind you try to remove snot from his or her lungs and then spit it out. It is disgusting for sure but you will get used to it eventually.

As a white person or just a person who is not Asian-look-a-like then you will have to get use to Chinese/Asian people taking pictures of you like you were a celebrity or some kind of walking tourist attraction. This I have a hard time getting used to and you cannot ask them to stop doing it because they do not understand you – Trust me I have tried and all I got was Chinese words as an answer + some strange looks from the person.

If you are planning to go to Beijing do not get too surprised about all the security checks you have to go through to get to something. Security checks are everywhere you have to entre something; the subway, museums, historical sights and the list goes on. Even though I have diabetes and carry needles and that stuff they have not yet stopped me so you will get through easily.

Forget everything about communication with the Chinese. Very few talk English and if they do most of them do not dare to talk to you… Except if they want to sell you some of their bags or watches. They do approach you to ask where you come from and then they will ask if you want to go have a cup of tea or coffee with them, please do not fall for that trick. I met a girl in the King’s Joy Hostel who fell for the trick and she ended up paying 100¥ for the show. After hearing that story I said, “no thank you, I do not like Chinese tea” which is no lie and a great way to get rid of these intruders.

About the tea… Usually I really like tea but this green tea stuff they all drink so much of is not that great. I have tried it a few times now and it does not get better with time. They do have a lot of tea and the tea is everywhere. Of course there are different tea types and not ONLY green tea.

Beijing is a city of history that is for sure. The Forbidden City alone is 1 km2 and it has a lot of different squares, corners and chambers. With this tourist attraction you can be sure of A LOT of people and I am talking about London in busy hours-busy! The Forbidden City is right behind the Tian’anmen Square with a huge picture of the former emperor; Mao right above the entrance to the square before the entrance of The Forbidden City.

I assure you this is one of the attractions that is one of the MUST SEE-ones. You will get lost for sure - I did even with a map - because the map does not show all of the smaller "streets" in the city. The whole city was build in the 1400 and it hit me several times how it was even possible for the workers to build this massive buildings. It must be like visiting the pyramids in Egypt.. No one knows how but it was build anyway.

My work as a carpenter

I started in SnekkerBjørn the 22nd go April.
First: I am the first girl in the firm and I am very proud of that.
Our first thing to do was to get rid of the roof of the oldest barn in Bodø.
The building is from 1893 and we were only allowed to remove the rotten wood!
But there where quite a lot of that!!!

Even though I am a girl and that I have just started my education I was thrown
into the hard work right away. It was kind of nice the first day because it was
the same day I had to say goodbye to my father who drove me all the way up here.

I got introduced to my colleagues and they put me on the top of the latter on my
very first day. That is about 14 meters above the ground and then I got a crowbar
in my hand and then I just had to begin removing the old roof one meter at a time.

Sometimes is was really hard because the nails was all rusty and stuck
but sometimes it was so rotten that you could remove the roof with your bare hands.

For a veeeeeeeeery long time it was all about tearing down the roof. The boss of the
contructionsite sometimes replaced the rotten breams with new ones instead of helping me and
one other colleague removing the roof. I think that is the great thing about being the boss.
One day that will be me! I am sure.

Sometimes we had the most strange weather. One day in may we actually had
all the seasons in a timeframe of four hours. It started out like summer, then
all of a sudden it started to be autumn because a heavy rain started and then
came the winter because of the snow falling from the skye and then it was spring
because the sun came back and melted all the snow. So strange!

Of course there came a time when all the tearing down was done and
it became the time to start building it again. It was just as hard as tearing down
and for a long time - again - I experienced being absolutely busted when
I came home from work. We had a german guy for three weeks who helped
us out. He had just started his education like me. Sorry to say: he looked
like a goat.. ;) and he was not that good at english but we managed.

Building takes a lot less time than tearing down and at the same time it
is much more fun to build! The time flies away when you build. Some days
I was so surprised every time I looked at my watch because the time
was just gone in a second. That is the nice days.

But there came a time - again - when we had to tear down .. This time it was the old walls.

The most amazing thing about all this is:
- I learn all kinds of new stuff.
- I now get my own stuff to do and they trust me to do a good job.
- I get in charge of some new colleagues - A russian guy who wants me to teach
him to speak norwegian even though I am a dane? wtf?

This job is where I am supposed to be at the moment.
I still love being outside working even though we have some strange weather here
and I enjoy using my body and see the development there.
I have gained some mussels now ;)
