We are going hunting

Svampejagten er skudt i gang

 The mushroom hunt has begun

/ Why should you now take advantage of the offers of the forest? They are even
for free. My friend and I could not hold ourselves from going into the biggest forest
in Denmark, Rold Skov, and oh boy it payed off. We both got home with a surprisingly
big amount of mushrooms each - both edible, poisonous, unknown ones and known.
The season for mushrooms picking is around August to October and we were out
there in mid August not counting on finding much but the forest proved us otherwise /

Rødbrun mælkehat (spiselig) / saffron milkcap (edible)
Gran Koralsvamp (spiselig) / Crown Coral (edible)
Guldgaffel (spiselig) / Yellow Coral (edible)

Violet Ametysthat (kan spises, men det frarådes) /
Amethyst Deceiver (edible, though advised not to)
Dagens fangst, og vi var kun ude og lede i en lille time / The pick of the day and we only picked for little less than an hour

/ Not only did we get a lot of fresh air but also the dog got some time to
enjoy the gifts of the forest. All in all was the trip a successful one and
there is something very satisfying about pick mushrooms and get to cook
them, taste them and enjoy them. I would recommend a trip to your nearest
forest. Remember a basket of some kind that will not ruin the mushrooms. /

Wind under my wings

This is me from not so long ago..
2016 brought many ups and downs, a lot of
travelling and not to exclude; a lot of new experiences.
2017 is going to be a year with even more
experience because I am taking a one-way-ticket
to Guatemala. Lake Atitlán is waiting for me,
so I am following my sister's footsteps into
the world of new things and even more travel
than ever before.
I am scared, nervous and excited at the same
time and the scared part is a new thing for me..
But that will not hold me back in Denmark.

Taking off the 22nd of January and
not looking back.. That is what I am going to do.

Beijing - Day three

The Temple of Heaven

People in the park were doing all kinds of activities - Like on this picture: playing badminton
Activities like boardgames were an attraction as well

I walked into a photoshoot of a newlywed couple. Red is the most used color for the dresses in China

Today I felt like something should be done and therefor I went to the Temple of Heaven where you can pray for good harvest and some other stuff. The temple is places in a huge park where hundreds of activities is going on. People playing badminton without nets - some people did sweat quite a lot because they were so enthusiastic about their game - while others dance in pairs with a ball they throw up in the air to their partner and some did dance to live music.

I first arrived at the temple where you pray for a good harvest while the rest of the park invites you to different stops on your way which is more beautiful than the one before. The Seven Star Stones is also a stop on the way and it was a beautiful sight. I came across this beautiful 500 year old tree which had a rutine when you came close to it:
You had to walk around it while waving at the tree - It would give you great fortune.

Long time no see

It has been a long time since I last put up a blogpost. It has been too long.
The reason for that is.. I have not had anything to report to you. What a scandal. Never the less I am back and I am back with some exciting news!
I AM LEAVING FOR BEIJING IN JULY

Yup.. You heard right. I have planned this for a couple of months already and I am very excited to share this new with all of you. I have been in touch with Chinese people on a website where you can chat with people from all around the world to get inside facts and recommendations.
The website is very easy and people will be quick to contact you. You can setup some requirements about what language you want to learn and you can search for specific places or cities that you might have an interest in or maybe even travelling to at some point.

The website is: Interpals' website. Go check it out. And if you are already there and want my name then go add me: My Profile.

That was a bit of a digress..
My plans for the trip to Beijing is kind of big. I am not only going to Beijing. After a chat with a guy from Interpals who live in Beijing he convinced me to travel to Shanghai as well. I can go by train and spend a couple of days there. At least that is what I am planning to do.
I am going to stay in Beijing for 15 days. Amazing, hu?

I was recommended to go to Xian but I have not decided yet if I am going.

If you have been to Beijing or have some inside knowledge about the place and what is good or bad you are more than welcome to put in a comment below!! I want to know about all the things that you can do for fun and even eat in Beijing and Shanghai.

All the love - Luna

Party in the DK

A lot has happened since I got back from Bodø, Norway.
It is about a month ago I arrived in Denmark and I was home at my parents in 7 awake hours
before I got back to Skolehjemmet in Aalborg. It was so great to see all my friends again and in
the past three/four weeks I have been at home I have had a lot of great times.

First: I have finished my school.
I had my exam the 3rd of April and I got a 12(/A+). I was so excited I could not realize
that I got the best of the best! I can still be amazed about it! :)

Second: I have signed a contract with the firm in Bodø.
I now have a apprenticeship for six months in Norway until the next schooling in November!
I am going to attend a hiking/trekking-team in Bodø and I going on a lot
of hiking trips with them or that is what I am hoping to do!

Third: Since I came back to Denmark and the Skolehjem we have had a lot of
parties here at the Skolehjem. It happens every thursday where you can bye a beer
for 10kr! It is lovely and cosy as well. You can play pool and dance or even play some
drunk-games!

With my greatest of friends I have been on a lot of walks. Our favorite place it now
an abandoned house at the harbor where you have the view of the most of the Limfjord
and you can see most of Aalborg from the rooftop! It is amazing!

Traditional Bodø fish dish

"Skrei med lever og rogn"

This is not my picture, but it looks 10 times better than my plate
After work today I went to a cafeteria called: Lovolds Kafeteria near the harbor.
Here I was introduced to a fish dish from Bodø which is cod, fish livers, some potatoes and a sauce.
You get flat bread with the dish. I have to admit that it looks like something
not even the cat would drag in.. But it taste surprisingly good!

From Bodø to Bliksvær, Helligvær, Vokkøy, Sørlandego and back

Leaving Bodø!

First stop was Bliksvær! Population: 5-9 people, except when fishermen or hikers comes around

After a 10 minutes stop at Helligvær we came across Vokkøy. We only saw a couple and their child!
View of Sørlandego!

Sørlandego! The biggest of all the islands. They have a school and several shops.

The Sørlandego island from Rønvik viewpoint!

Northern Bodø where a lot of paragliders come! You can also practise ice-climbing here.

A great weekend and a beautiful morning

I went for a walk in the city this saturday!
It was such a beautiful day and I was out walking for 4-5 hours!

When I woke up the following day (sunday) snow had fallen but it did not stop me
from walking through "Bodøgårdselva" and walk to the top of "Frostfjellet" and "Maskinisten".

It was a very beautiful and great weekend.
Monday and tuesday it both rained and blew a lot so it was a challenge on work but then
came today and just the way it started was enough to be sure that the weather and the day
was going to be great!
